Enchanted Needles

Hi friends! While rummaging through my stash a few days ago, I came across this sweet, little freebie I stitched last October. The poor thing needed to be made up and finished.
So I used a pretty gold fabric from my stash, and it is done! This freebie can be found right HERE.
The pattern is called Enchanted Needles. I stitched this one over one on 32ct over-dyed mystery linen. I used DMC 4025 and Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe's Tarnished Gold.

I drew the name of the winner for the LK Love Is Best traveling pattern. I couldn't get Henry to pick a name today, so I did the job myself. ;) I still prefer to write everyone's names, cut them into little strips, fold them, shake and mix them and pull one out. The winner is Hazel! I am waiting for Hazel's address, then this pattern is off to England!

I went through a real sadness this weekend. I pulled out my shoebox full of pink tumbler blocks to begin piecing them together in horizontal rows. Friends, I just cannot believe it. I miscalculated.  By a LOT.  I need 156 different, pink fabrics still to complete that Epic Pink Charm Quilt. I think I figured out the math part while on percocet. And I am not kidding. Not like me to misjudge like that. I was so down about this, that I thought of just quitting the whole thing. I mean c'mon! That is a lot more fabric. But no. I truly want to make this quilt. I have been collecting pink fabric for years to make it.  I bought fabric at JoAnn and Hobby Lobby on Saturday. So 156 is my new goal, it was higher. sigh.

Well, I did get five horizontal rows pieced. They are ready and waiting. I will plug away at piecing here and there, since there is no telling how long it will be until I have every piece of fabric I need. I put my countdown of the pink fabrics needed back in my sidebar.

I am so glad to count you as a friend! Thank you for visiting with me today. Have a fabulous week now.

Stitching and praying,
Vickie

Love your cute finish. You did a nice even job of stuffing. I find that to be the most difficult part of making those little cushions.

I can't believe you are 156 pieces short! Seemed like you had every pink pattern ever printed!

So the fabric pieces only need to be 5" x 5"? I almost always read from my phone and hadn't seen the sidebar until you referenced it today.

That is a really cute finish and I love the fabric you chose for backing.

156! No wonder you felt so disappointed. I hope you can collect them fairly quickly.

Quilters have a motto somewhat similar to carpenters then? Measure twice cut once!!!! Ours can be count twice (at least) and piece once!! Back to stash searching for pink stuff we shall go. please don't give up on this - we are all here to help sigh, regroup and find pink fabrics.

Love the finish on your little pillow...beautiful golds and blues. I understand completely about misjudging fabric for quilts. Will start saving pinks again for you!

I'm catching up on blog reading after a weekend away. Love your finish -- it's beautiful! Loved the LK piece too in your other post. 156! ACK! Sorry you miscalculated. The fabrics I have in places that I can reach aren't pink. :( I have some fabric in storage that would probably have some pink, but I can't get to them. And they are old too. Sigh. Sorry..... Don't give up!!

Very, very pretty. I love Victorian Motto threads. Such nice color changes. Nancy does a beautiful job and her threads work really well for punch needle as well as cross stitch.

I love your finish! The colors are lovely, and your finishing is perfect, as always!
Oh my--well, this little "fabric setback" won't stop you!!! You'll have those fabrics before you know it!!! Keep piecing it together!!

Cute finish Vickie, your stitching is so neat!
I'm not a quilter but can imagine this is bad news, but surely only a little setback. I will see if I have any pink fabric for you.

Oh, dear... I can feel your disappointment over the lack of fabric, Vickie. I'm sure it will appear at some point--just getting a start on the quilt is good for your soul :)

Cute little finish and congratulations to Hazel!

Love the turquoise DMC you used. I really like the 4000 series of colours.

Sorry about the miscounting though. At least it gets me another chance to look for some pink fabric for you. I failed miserably last time!

I am with Jo on this, the 4000 series of DMC colors are quite nice. I could fondle all the blues quite happily. :D

Congrats to the traveling pattern winner! And so sorry to hear that you need more pinks! I really thought you had every pink fabric created haha. I'm sure you'll rustle up some more. Maybe Spoonflower can help!

Such a sweet little finish. I love the golden fabric you used for it.
Wow, that's a lot of fabric you still need for your quilt. When our visitors will be gone in two weeks I'll have to look through my fabric stash and see what I can find.
